Just a quick question. When creating portfolios, how can I make the images open in lightbox instead of making them to be linked to their individual portfolio posts? I'd like to have an advantage of filterable portfolio, but make it kind of work like nextgen.

On the portfolio item editor screen you'll find the "Featured media" option field which allows you to upload/set the slideshow images for each portfolio item. Click on "Show" to expand the options for each image - search for the "Apply link to the image?" option and select "Open lightbox...".
