    Hi!

    I find the lightbox effect very jerky and almost like a flicker/flash effect when a image opens in lightbox.

    I get this effect from the demo site

    http://www.kriesi.at/themes/angular/#!prettyPhoto

    And from my own on both my computers in both safari and firefox.

    Can this be changed ?

    I’v seen effects where it pop up smooth and almost bounce at the end.

    Thanx

    Hi paullindqvist,

    I’m not sure I know what you mean. The effect is smooth and works pretty normal for me on a windows 7 machine testing in chrome, Firefox and IE.

    This would be the first I’ve heard of it acting in this way for a mac user but maybe its a specific OS or browser version. Can you give us a bit more information on what versions of both you are using.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Hi Devin!

    After updating Firefox it doesn’t seem to be as bad in firefox, still not perfectly smooth.

    OS:Mac OSX 10.7.4

    Browser

    Safari: 5.1.7(7534.57.2)

    Firefox: 13.0.1

    I did a Screenflow so you can see the effect i get in safari.

    Also there is a issue with flickering when I’m logged in as admin and i take the mouse over the menubar of the admin panel. (not sure how much it shows in the clip though)

    Thanks for the video and specs. I’ve tagged the topic for Kriesi to take a look at to see if there is any changes that need to or can be made to help.

    Hello,

    You can go to js > prettyPhoto > js folder then open jquery.prettyPhoto.js. I think you can edit this code

    {animation_speed:'fast',slideshow:5000,autoplay_slideshow:false,opacity:0.80

    You can change the animation speed to slow. Not sure if it is satisfactory.

    Hello,

    Honestly, I am not experiencing this flicker thing, I’m using a Windows 7 machine. Do you have a MAC PC?

    Let me tag Kriesi and the rest of the support team. Maybe they can see the flicker thing.

    Here is a screencast showing the difference between opening a portfolio item in lightbox and opening a image on the blog in lightbox.

    Can you see the difference ?

    I marked this thread for Kriesi. To be honest I’m not sure if he can help you because probably it would require a lightbox code rewrite. Maybe the easiest solution would be to use another lightbox like “lightbox evolution” etc.

    #80588

    Lightbox evulotion looks really good, how can i change it to that instead ?

    Regards

    Paul L.

    #80589

    Will the Lightbox evulotion plugin for wordpress work and override pretty photo just by installing it ? (don’t wan’t to purchase it just to find out it won’t work with this theme)

    Or is there something i need to do to implement it properly on the website ?

    Thanx!

    Will this plugin work ?

    http://codecanyon.net/item/lightbox-evolution-for-wordpress/119478

    Does it cancel out prettyphoto or do i can disable prettyphoto in theme ?

    Thanx!

    Just wanted to revive this question. :-)

    Hello,

    You can deactivate prettyPhoto, just go to js > avia.js the find this code

    //activates the prettyphoto lightbox
    if(jQuery.fn.avia_activate_lightbox)
    jQuery('body').avia_activate_lightbox();

    Replace it with

    //activates the prettyphoto lightbox
    //if(jQuery.fn.avia_activate_lightbox)
    //jQuery('body').avia_activate_lightbox();

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Thanx!

    I’ll try the Lightbox Evulotion plugin soon and report back.

    Hello,

    Sure. :)

    #80595

    BTW i assume to have Lightbox evulotion to be integrated in the theme like pretty photo demand some custom coding ?

    I want it to be activated the same way pretty photo is on portfolio items and slideshows.

    Question is if it’s even possible to have it work that way ?

    Maybe you know roughly what it would take ? Just wanted to know if it’s doable and if could hire a freelancer to do it for me.

    Thanx again.

    Regards

    Paul L.

    #80596

    Hey!

    Yes, it can be done and it requires around 1 hour of work. I used the lightbox evolution wordpress plugin before I switch to fancybox and it worked flawlessly.

    Best regards,

    Peter

    That sounds great, will it be a modification that can easily be carried over when the themes is updated ? (meaning i can copy over some files to get modification work on the new theme version)

    Thanx

    Regards

    Paul L.

    #80598

    To be honest I can’t remember which files I had to modify (and unfortunately I deleted them when I switched to fancybox) but I think I had to modify the plugin files a bit (because the pugin author ignored standard coding rules) and I had to adjust the code in avia.js.

    #80599

    Ok, thanx.

    Regards

    Paul L.
