If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
When I use “Link to Post” as the link option for a featured image, it just opens that image in the lightbox instead of jumping to the post.
Any ideas why this is happening? I hadn’t noticed it before until I started adding content to the blog.
I discovered that it doesn’t jump to the lightbox if the link is removed inside the image editing control panel. But there is another issue.
If I create a featured image with “link to this post” enabled, the thumbnail versions of the post or the blog preview entries will open up to the fully expanded post ok, but the link remains active on the featured image of the expanded post, and in this case it will try to open to a lightbox.
How can I turn off the linking, once the post is fully expanded?
in shoutbox>includes>helper-slideshow.php you’ll find
$image = avia_get_link($slide, 'slideshow_', $image_string, $this->post_id);
change it to
$image = avia_get_link($slide, 'slideshow_', $image_string);
This should remove the lightbox effect.
