    I set the first portfolio item image to ‘link to this post’ so the homepage and portfolio thumbnails are clickable.

    However, I do not want the slideshow images on the portfolio item page to be clickable at all (was opening image in lightbox, curiously).

    I have found a ‘semi-solution’ in this thread:

    http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/link-to-post-not-working-for-featured-images

    With this solution the lightbox no longer opens, but now the image links to the very page it is on, simply reloading the page. How do I remove the link altogether in the slideshow while keeping the thumbnails on the homepage and portfolio page clickable?

    Try following – open up wp-contentthemeseunoiaframeworkphpfunction-set-avia-frontend.php and replace:

    case "self":
    if(!is_singular() || $post_id != avia_get_the_ID() || !isset($option_array[$keyprefix.'image']))
    {
    $url = get_permalink($post_id);
    }
    else
    {
    $url = avia_image_by_id($option_array[$keyprefix.'image'], array('width'=>8000,'height'=>8000), 'url');
    }
    break;

    with

    case "self":
    if(!is_singular() || $post_id != avia_get_the_ID() || !isset($option_array[$keyprefix.'image']))
    {
    $url = get_permalink($post_id);
    }
    else
    {
    $url = $inside;
    }
    break;
