Linking from starting page content images

Hello

On the home page there are 3 images that go with the post text, I'd like to link from each of these images please. I have tried adding the linked image HTML to the "Small Mainpage Preview Image" in a new post but its only happy with a direct link to the image. So edited the index.php file as suggested, this worked perfectly with the image linking. But, on the home page the image now has a black outline, showing it as a link.

So my question is, how can I stop the theme from adding this outline, or, how can I add a linked image directly to "Small Mainpage Preview Image" section

To remove the border you need to open style1/2/3.css and find following code (example code for style1.css):
```
.content img, .content a img {
	background-color:#fff;
	border:1px solid #aaa;
	}

.content a:hover img {
	background-color:#75A9DD;
	border:1px solid #396EA4;
	}
```
You can delete the code or adjust it to your needs.
