I have the most recent version of propulsion (1.6) and am still having issues with the Magic wand shortcode previewer. I have tried disabling all my plugins but that doesn’t help. I am running WP 3.4.1.
I know this topic has been covered extensively and updates were made to various files to fix it but it seems that I’m still having issues. Could it have something to do with being with Hostgator? I read something about mod_security.

Personally, I’m not familiar with Hostgator and their setup so I’m going to tag the rest of the support team to see if they know of any issues/fixes.

I don’t know for a fact whether Hostgator is the culprit, thought my gut feeling would be to say no, since their legions of customers (most on WordPress) would go berserk. Would you please describe your specific problem?
2) Does the wand appear but you are unable to insert any shortcodes, even the most basic?
3) Is this behavior consistent on Chrome, FF, IE, Safari?
4) If you insert the shortcodes manually,, do they show up in the page correctly?August 31, 2012 at 6:09 pm #88993
Hi Nick, thanks for the message. To answer your questions:
1. Java is on. It’s used by many other things on the site and I have verified it is working.
2. The wand does appear and I am able to insert the basic shortcodes such as the dropcaps
3. Yes, consistent across all browsers..
4. Yes, the shortcodes show up if used manually.
Seeing that its consistent across the browsers I’m seriously thinking it has something to do with my plugins or the magic wand itself. Here’s a list of my plugins. Are there any known conflicts?

You can try turning off TinyMCE Advanced.
However, I still don’t understand the problem. Does the popup window appear? Does this only occur with columns?
Take a look at a video I just made and please let us know what you see/do that’s different. http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cljwqJMb3 (requires java)

Well, I’m not sure if this might still be related, but one user posted a bit about Host Gator and what they needed to do to get the shortcode popup to work correctly so it might of use. Here is the direct link to the post:
The gist of it is Host Gator needs to change the permissions on running certain scripts and doing it for TimThumb as the directions provide also seems to get it working for Kriesi’s Shortcode popup.
Hope that helps :)
