I just downloaded the flashlight theme to wordpress. I am new to wordpress and I am starting to figure things out but I don’t want to mess anything up…
My first question is, I want to use the site to sell my products, so I chose the main shop menu, however, this displays the following options in my menu bar:
Gallery: WordPress Default
A big fat Heading
Checkout → Pay
Track your order
I only want: HOME, SHOP, GALLERY, BLOG and CONTACT. to show in my menu. How do i hide the others from showing but still connect them so all my pages work when customer buys something.
Second, will I have to design the products page, the style of it, or when I add the items to woo commerce product page will they appear automatically on the site?
I have done HTML classes in Uni, but never used wordpress, so I can learn fast I just don’t know where to start. Thanks.May 23, 2012 at 5:57 am #75863
Kindly go to: Appearance > Menus > Main Menu.
You can see there a list of pages in your Main Menu. Kindly remove those pages that you don’t want to appear (by clicking the arrow on the right most part of the bar with the name of the page and click Remove)
For the shop, kindly go to: WooCommerce > Pages > Shop Base Page and set the page you want to assign as the Shop then save changes.
You can use this as a reference in using wordpress: http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for responding!
I went to the main menu page, and it is showing that I only have shop, gallery, blog, contact.. But then on the actual site it is showing all those other listings… it’s weird, any other suggestions?
I managed to set the base page to shop. So now when I add the products will they automatically appear on the shop page?
Thanks so much! I will definitely check out that link.

Do you have a link to your site that we can take a look at?
If you’d like, create an temporary admin account and I’ll see if there is anything odd going that might be causing your menus to display incorrectly.
You can send the information to my email at DevinVinson (at) gmail.com. Make sure to include a link to this topic so that my spam filter doesn’t grab it :)

In the Theme Location box under Appearance > Menus, make sure the “Flashlight Main Menu” in the Theme Locations box is set to whatever you named your menu on the right.
