Mainpage : displaying latest work from portfolio categories on a new line

Hi there,

I would like to duplicate the mainpage column and populate them with latest portfolio items.

1 - We have 4 columns on mainpage, I'd like to have 8 columns on 2 line, each lines with 4 placeholder.

2 - I'd like to populate the 4 last column with some recent portfolio item, but in the mainpage option I can only choose from category of blog post. Is there a way to add the Portfolio category or add a new type : portfolio item ?

Ok, it's seems to be not so simple :)

If you can just help me to call portfolio items on the main page it should be very helpfull.

Hey,
in template_portfolio.php you'll find the portfolio items query code (at the very top after):
```
//parameters for querying portfolio entries
```
Kriesi builds the query string first (various parameters) and calls the wp_query function then...
Maybe you need to reset the query: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_reset_query if you call other posts before by using the wp_query function...
