When mousing over the portfolio item text, it looks as if you can click both the image or the text to move to that page, but you cannot.
Also I would like to have my breadcrumbs click able to navigate back to that page.

Hi Jimmy,
The breadcrumbs are already linked. The issue is that when the container for them was decreased it caused the shadow image to overlap them and so a user can't actually select the content behind the image.
Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:
#top .title_container .breadcrumb {
z-index: 20;
