I am using a child theme so customized css code would be okay.

I am modifying the photography demo and have run into a question with the masonry elements within the portfolio categories.

I have included a screen shot as to my layout situation. What would you recommend? All of the options for display cause problems: flexible, perfect grid and perfect automated masonry. Most photographs are 2:3 either in portrait or landscape orientation and none of these seem to work for proper display of photographs. Notice the portrait orientation photographs are cropped.

    Hey dibooth,

Could you provide us with a link to the site in question so that we can take a closer look please?

    Best regards,

Did you get my link. I had sent it as private data? Thanks, Diane

HELLO…..Are you out there? I really need someone to look at the layout of the photography grid. It doesn’t seem to work with portrait and landscape typical photography sizing of 3:2 ratio. Could someone get back to me as soon as possible. Thanks. I am on the fence between two themes and need the theme to support this feature.

    Hi!

Sorry for the delay. Set the Size Settings to Perfect Manual Masonry then control the height by adding a “landscape” or “portrait” tag to the portfolio items. Add both if you want to display the image as extra large.

    Cheers!

    1. The portfolio page is already set to perfect manual masonry. The portfolio images have both landscape & portrait tags to display extra large. The portrait images display incorrectly. This still doesn’t work.

    2. Once you click on the portfolio page, you are brought to a portfolio entry. There is no option to add portrait or landscape tags at the individual photo level. I have been customizing the image containers in order to make it look better. The only way this page displays well is with the flexible masonry. There is no perfect manual masonry at this level.

    3. The site is not very responsive on an iPhone. Please take a look!

    Hey!

Note that the maximum size of the images in the masonry element is set to 705x705px. Images larger than the specified dimension will be cropped or resized accordingly. Install the following plugin if you want to adjust the size of the masonry thumbnail: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/

Go to the Settings > Media panel then adjust the size of the “masonry” thumbnail. Update, save then regenerate the thumbnails afterwards. You may need to do this process multiple times to get the exact dimension that you want.

    Cheers!

    Hello;

I installed the plugin you recommended and have a few simple questions.

Would updating the 705 x 705 masonry setting negatively impact the look/feel of your theme? I would like the images to display a bit larger by default. I also am struggling with the landscape/portrait settings. I exported a test image as 705px long side using both a landscape and portrait image orientation. The portfolio main page still crops the portrait orientation for display. I used the plugin and regenerated the thumbnails. Shouldn’t the image display 705 on the long side and not have to crop? The same image is NOT cropped one you click on the gallery to display the images contained within.

What is the element name for the images within the gallery: still masonry?

    Hey!

should not have a negative impact and if yes then let us know.

Can you provide us a link to your site showing the elements in question please? we need to be able to inspect the elements.

    Cheers!
