Our site was setup and working fine but we just noticed that all the sudden, we can’t access one of our portfolios. We noticed this after the upgrade to WordPress 3.3, but I can’t say for certain if that is the reason why, or if one of our volunteers went in and did something I don’t know about that could have messed it up, too, and the timing is just a coincidence :-)
Anyway, I have a portfolio page that I keep adding to our menu. The slug is “adoptable-dogs/crosslisted-dogs”.
I also have another page, which used to be named “adoptable-dogs/crosslisted-dogs-2″. It just had text on it and was not a portfolio page.
They used to work fine, but for some reason, now when I try to go to “adoptable-dogs/crosslisted-dogs” it redirects me to “adoptable-dogs/crosslisted-dogs-2″.
I thought maybe there is an issue with them having the same name, so I moved the latter to a different place and changed it’s name to something else. I changed it to have no parent and changed the name to “crosslisted-dogs-courtesy-listings”.
But now, when I try to go to adoptable-dogs/crosslisted-dogs, it just redirects to my recently changed page “crosslisted-dogs-courtesy-listings”. I’ve tried removing both from the menu, then re-adding them back, but no matter what I do, it always redirects the portfolio page to that other page for some reason. And not the portfolio won’t show up at all, even when I type its URL directly into the browser, it redirects.
The site is mabbr.org

I can’t tell why this link:
redirects to this:December 22, 2011 at 1:26 am #59036
I have no idea what could be causing this, maybe something changed in your .htaccess file or maybe your menu is messed up, I’d need to check your admin panel to be sure. You can create me an admin account and send the user info to firstname.lastname@example.org.December 23, 2011 at 9:37 pm #59037December 23, 2011 at 9:42 pm #59038
You know, I also did insert a snippet of text to appear in all portfolios (above the images) and I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
I got into one of the main portfolio PHP files and put this so it would show up at the top of all portfolios:
Most of the Adoptable Dogs listed on this website are dogs in MABBR’s adoption program, with the exception of “Crosslisted Dogs”, which are courtesy listings for individuals or other organizations. Learn more about Crosslisted Dogs.

It ended up being some sort of conflict since they all had similar names. I renamed all the problem pages something completely different and everything is working now. Weird.January 1, 2012 at 3:52 am #59040
