When I copy a page or post url to Facebook I can see that my Meta descriptions are all messed up / pure rubbish
I don’t know if it is the SEO by Yoast ?

    Hey Lone1971!

If you aren’t already using the SEO plugin and have the data set you would need to do that to specify them to Facebook as far as I know. Otherwise Facebook tries to create its own snippet.

    Cheers!

    I am using it ?
I don’t really know what you mean, it has never been a problem before and I have used the plugin for a while ?

Serius there MUST be something wrong, both in my pages and my new posts the meta and titles are rubbish on Facebook now, if I go back to older posts there is NO problem and I have NOT done anything different ?

There isn’t anything on the theme side that specifically sets the data for Facebook to use. When using WordPress SEO it handles all of that completely independently of the theme.

Looking just at your home page however there is no description set in the source of the page but on your single posts its there, set, and looks correct. Eg:

I have never had these problems before so sorry for asking:
Where do I place the description on the front page if not in the SEO meta description ?

It has always worked all right and some of my older posts have the same problem.

Hmm think I fixed it somehow, don’t know how though

    Glad to hear it :)

Maybe it was a temporary caching error from Facebook.
