    Hi there,

    Please see the following link: http://www.erosmortis.com/shop-entrance/

    when i test the mobile menu, i get a partial list of pages.

    First, none of the pages fromthe socket menu or top menu. Secondly, the main menu items do not appear.

    I made the main menu entirely out of custom links in order to accomodate the rollover images, so I suspect this has somethign to do with it. What do I need to adjust to display a complete list?

    thnaks for your time,

    Gus

    Hi Gus,

    I’m not completely sure if its related to the customization on the main links but it may be an older bug since you are running theme version 1.1.

    I’d recommend updating your theme files and see if that fixes it first and will also allow us to be using the same code base when trying to dig deeper (if needed).

    Regards,

    Devin

    #125430

    oh, damn it! I didnt even know there was a new version…

    #125431

    Is there any way to get documentation for the old theme version? I’m afraid upgrading might break somethig on the site I’ve put so much work into already.

    #125432

    Or is there anythign else you can think of that I can check first?

    #125433

    I just did a test by adding a new “about’ page “about-2″ and added it to the main menu, and it then appeared on the mobile menu. When I removed it from the main menu, it disappeared. So it must be the image rollovers.

    So my question now is this: Can I just make an alternate menu for mobile, and have the theme point to that menu for mobile instead?

    #125434

    Or, alternatively, tell the theme to display the custoom links from the main menu instead of only the pages?

    thanks for your time

    Gus

    Hey Gus,

    The only thing I could think of would be to create a new html mobile menu in your header.php and then use a media query to display it on tablet/mobile but hide it on desktop.

    Its beyond what we can do via support but its pretty straightforward if you had a freelance developer take care of it.

    Regards,

    Devin

    #125436

    I was afraid you would say that….

    Thanks!

    I’ve been experimenting some more and it seems that, if I go in the menu’s “Navigation label”, where I put in the rollover code:

    …And I add the page title “About” right before or after the rollover code, then it DOES display the page title on the mobile menu. So it seems to be taking the title from that field, but it also displays that title right next to the rollover image.

    Maybe any way that I can work this title into the code or the css window without it displaying on the menu?

    thanks!

    #125438

    oh damn it! I forgot. here’s the code again:

    #125439

    <img src="http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMbuttonabout.gif" />

    #125440

    I dont know how to comment out the code properly…. :(

    #125441

    It should be possible I would just need to see it live and inspect the code. If you don’t want to leave it up for long with the text just floating there shoot me an email when its up or with login details so I can add the css manually.

    You can send the information to my email at DevinVinson (at) gmail.com. Make sure to include a link to this topic so that my spam filter doesn’t grab it :)

    Devin

    Hi Devin,

    Thanks a bunch! I will email you now with login details.

    #125443

    I did the first About item as an example of how to add the new text. The css to hide it is in your quick css:

    .main_menu p {
    display: none;
    }

    Regards,

    Devin

    #125444

    OMG, that’s so simple! I was even able to add the rest of the items from the other menus!

    Thanks for your patience on this one!

    #125445

    Oh, damn it! the menu doesnt display on IE 8. I HATE Internet Explorer!!!!

    Any fix for that?

    #125446

    Looks perfectly fine on every other browser…..Jesus!

    #125447

    Hi,

    Can you please post the full css code for your menu? Maybe some properties are not supported by IE8 like “background-image” etc.

    You can put code in between backtick ( ` ) characters to show the code.

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Hi!

    here it is. it’s the same for every menu item, and its input into the “navigation label” field.

    <p>About</p><img src="http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMbuttonabout.gif" alt="About" width="72" height="80" onmouseover="this.src='http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMHbuttonabout.gif'" onmouseout="this.src=' http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMbuttonabout.gif'" />

    and this is the quick CSS:

    .main_menu p {

    display: none;

    }

    thanks!

    #125449

    Hi,

    Please replace onmouseover with onMouseOver, onmouseout with onMouseOut.

    Or

    You should probably try a different approach because the mouse handlers tend to have a problem with old IE browsers.

    Instead of the code above, you can use this:

    <p>About</p>
    <div id="menu-about"/></div>

    Then add this on your custom.css or Quick CSS

    #menu-about {
    display: block;
    width: 72px;
    height: 80px;
    background: url('http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMbuttonabout.gif') no-repeat center;
    cursor: pointer;
    }

    #menu-about:hover {
    background: url('http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMHbuttonabout.gif') no-repeat center;
    }

    Regards,

    Ismael

    #125450

    thanks! I will try this out right now.

    #125451

    That should do the trick but will just take a bit of re-doing everything you’ve got now :)

    Regards,

    Devin

    #125452

    Hmmm… I tried it and it didnt work! the hover image appears for a split second on loading the page and then disappears. I tried it with and without this part:

    /*Hide the menu text*/
    .main_menu p {
    display: none;
    }

    With it, nothing displays. without it, only the “about” text displays. If it helps, this is the other code I havein the quick CSS:

    #header .container_wrap_menu {
    position: relative !important;
    }
    #top #main .title_container {
    display: none;
    }
    .avia_select_fake_val {
    color: black;
    }
    #top .single_add_to_cart_button {
    background-color: #FAFE9E;
    color: #000;
    font-size:16px;
    }
    #top .single_add_to_cart_button:hover {
    background-color: #FFFF99;
    }
    .avia_cart_buttons {
    opacity: 1 !important;
    visibility: visible !important;
    }

    div .products .product {
    margin-bottom: 85px !important;
    }

    #menu-about {
    display: block;
    width: 72px;
    height: 80px;
    background: url('http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMbuttonabout.gif') no-repeat center;
    cursor: pointer;
    }

    #menu-about:hover {
    background: url('http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMHbuttonabout.gif') no-repeat center;
    }

    #125453

    PS

    the menu items disappear in all browsers, not just IE.

    #125454

    I don’t see the menu or css live on the site right now. If you can add one in we could take a look.

    If you are really struggling however I would suggest having a freelance developer add everything in for you. It should only be a half hour to an hour if all the images are prepared and the menu in place just waiting to have the image effect added in.

    #125455

    OK, just one last try, please! then I swear i will pay someone to do it! I just want to see if I’m overlooking something.

    the menu is live on this page, with only the “about” page added. I didnt want to do the whole thing if it wasnt going to work.

    the custom css is exactly as described above.

    http://www.erosmortis.com/about-test/

    thanks again

    #125456

    You also need:

    #menu-menufix > li > a p {
    display: none;
    }

    to hide the text. Then force the new id to show since its getting hidden from something:

    #menu-about {
    display: block !important;
    opacity: 1 !important;
    width: 72px;
    height: 80px;
    background: url('http://www.erosmortis.com/wp-content/uploads/menu-icons/EMbuttonabout.gif') no-repeat center;
    cursor: pointer;
    }

    #125457

    Awesome. thanks so much!
