    Hi,

I have set up my site and started to put some content on it, but I have a problem in that the more function doesn’t seem to work on the front page. It works fine when the posts are not showing on the front page.

Anyone have any thoughts. site is http://www.dominateinternetmarketing.co.uk

    Thanks

    Andrew

    Hey,

The more links are pointing to the correct page, but being redirected back to the front page – this is the link for the 1st item: http://www.dominateinternetmarketing.co.uk/?p=28#more-28

Please disable any plugins you have running (rules out plugin conflict), and set your Permalinks (WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks) – this will give you SEO friendly URL’s and flush the rewrite rules so hopefully will fix this issue.

    Hey,

Sorry to hear you’re still having problems, can you create a WP admin account for me and send the login details and site URL to support {at} jamesmorrisondesign {dot} com with the subject:

and I’ll take a look. Please also include a link back to this topic.

    Hey,

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve checked over the site and nothing is seemingly out of place or wrong which suggests that there is either something lurking in your database forcing the redirect or there is something in the .htaccess file which is redirecting the pages.

I’m not sure this is theme related, the quick test is to activate the Twenty Ten (default) theme then try to go to a post URL – can you try this and feedback the results?

Personally in this situation I’d reinstall WP from scratch (i.e. remove all files / content having backed it up and exported the posts, pages and other content) and delete the database; then set up a new one. There’s something going on which isn’t quite right and a fresh install shouldn’t inherit any bugs from the existing one. If the same problem continues on a fresh install it might be related to a setting / feature your host has so it may be worth talking to them as well.

    Hi James,

Works fine under the Twenty Ten (default) theme. which is what lead me to think it was the Theme that had an issue.

I will do a clean install and see how we go but does seem strange.

    Regards

    Andrew
