I have an entry in my top menu, called news, and I assigned blog to it.
I'd also need to have a different entry (events), with the same style. Is there any way I can create one more blog section or, otherwise, any way I can set up a custom dynamic template for looking like the blog section and behave like that (showing last posts first, showing them with blog format, etc...)?

I didn't notice I can add a blog section to a custom template.

Is, anyway, a way I can differenciate the sidebars for the two sections?
I created one section showing only posts from one first level category (and subcategories) and the other sections showing posts from a different first level category.
For the first section, I'd like to show flagship combo widget (but, possibly, without showing posts from the category used for the other section) and, for the second section, I'd like to show only archives (but, in this case also, only with post from the category used from that section).Thanx.

Hi cbennison,
I believe through the theme options>Sidebars you can add a sidebar for specific categories only. This will probably be the some simple route to take without having to do any custom coding.
