If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I have set-up a number of new “widget areas” for certain pages within my site. I would like these pages to have only these areas in the sidebars or at least for these areas to come before the generic page sidebar widget areas.
Currently all of the new “widget areas” that you add are placed below the sidebar content for “Sidebar Pages”.
Do you have any widgets in the “Sidebar Pages” widget area? If not, drag over a blank “Text Widget” and save. What this should do is hide the default Sidebar Pages content and move the widget areas you created to the top. You may need to apply some CSS to reduce the spacing if there’s any. We can give you that code if you need it.
The Pages Sidebar does actually include a few widgets. What I don’t want to have to do is to create individual sidebars for each page. Ideally I want the exact same functionality as there is currently BUT I want the Custom Sidebar widgets to appear above the Standard Sidebar widgets not below.
