    Hello!

    I just bought this theme and I’ve got a question.

    I would like to have different portfolio categories on different portfolio pages. For e.g., Portfolio Category 1 will be shown on Page 1, Porfolio Category 2 on Page 2.

    Please assist, thanks!

    Hi,

    Create two pages. On each page, insert the Portfolio Grid element. Configure each Portfolio Grid, look for “Which categories should be used for the portfolio?”, select different category for each page.

    You can watch tutorial videos here: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes

    You can also Import the Dummy Data.

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Hello Ismael

    Thanks for that! I’ve already did as you’ve instructed. It’s working exactly how I want it to be.

    However, on the main portfolio display page, can I have them like how it is on the demo?

    Hi,

    I see what you mean. Your page http://www.clipular.com/c?8478012=1RZfkgeopCnbsz-lZnqMJyXZTE4&f=.png and the theme demo http://www.clipular.com/c?8478013=xA6WjsuC8GL7V0GGrxZZfz0VU_s&f=.png are still a bit apart. So lets begin. I am not sure what to tell you. I think somewhere along the way something may have happen. Can you please provide a working url. I don’t see any place to log in.

    Thanks,

    NIck

    Hi,

    Looks good. So where are the portfolios?

    Please look here. http://i.imgur.com/3JY3mET.png

    Thank you so much, Nick!!!! You are a lifesaver indeed!

    Anyway, one last question. For the portfolio items page, is it possible for me to hide the post date??

    #126405

    Hi,

    Yes, it is. Please add this on your custom.css or Quick CSS

    .single-portfolio .date {
    display: none !important;
    }

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Thanks Ismael!

    Okay this is good. As my portfolio categories have sub categories, is it possible to show the parent category as well?

    Currently if I click on a portfolio item, it shows ‘in Accessories’. If possible, can I have it something like ‘in Gold Collection > Accessories’ instead??

    Hi,

    Have you tried making a category Gold, and Making Accessories a Child Category of Gold Category? See http://i.imgur.com/AzQtAAI.png

    I don’t see anywhere gold listed as a portfolio category.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hello Nick

    Yup I did, I have two Parent Categories and one is ‘Gold Collection’, the other is ‘Silver Collection’. I just didn’t choose to display them on the pages yet.

    Hi,

    What is the function of these pages? Do you plan on selling something online via a shopping cart (WooCommerce) or is this a display of inventory, a way to showcase the store? Because with WooCommerce this would be automatic, (category parents) http://nanarevedela.com/gold-collection/accessories/

    Please make a backup of /includes/loop-index.php and change lines 86-91

    if(!empty($cats))
    {
    echo '<span class="blog-categories minor-meta">'.__('in ','avia_framework');
    the_category(', ');
    echo '</span>';
    }

    into

    if(!empty($cats))
    {
    echo '<span class="blog-categories minor-meta">'.__('in ','avia_framework');
    $term = get_term_by( 'slug', get_query_var( 'term' ), get_query_var( 'taxonomy' ) );
    $parent = get_term($term->parent, get_query_var('taxonomy') );
    echo $parent->name . " > ";
    the_category(', ');
    echo '</span>';
    }

    This may throw an error as i didnt test it. So do this with ftp and be prepared to recover with backup.

    Thanks,

    Nickn

    Hey Nick

    Thanks, but it doesn’t work. Anyway it’s alright, I guess I’ll have to just skip this.

    I didn’t want to enable woocommerce, as other users on this site have itchy fingers. It’s just a product showcase. Thanks anyway!
