First let me explain that I bought the HTML template some time ago. I liked it so much that later, when the WordPress one came out I asked if I could buy just the blog theme as an upgrade. No. I had to buy the whole thing. Well, O.K. then. I spent the extra $$ and bought it just to have the WordPress theme.

I have used WordPress many times before, and have hand-coded sites; I’m familiar with HTML , CSS and PHP , and I play a little with javascript and AJAX . So I expected no trouble.

After trying seven times to install it, and numerous calls to my host’s tech support, I finally gave up. Every time I tried to install the theme it would look great, but weird things would happen – and not always the same things. I would lose my whole site, I’d get errors when I went to look for my posts, I’d get the main page with no menu showing and no way to navigate, on and on.

I finally went and created a WP theme myself that works and that integrates pretty well with the rest of my site, but I’d really like to be able to use this one, since it is visually totally integrated.

    Can you help me?

Of course :) First of all please set up an installation that we can access. Then tell us what doesn’t work or needs to be changed and we will help as good as we can to fix any problems ;)

OK – Thanks for your reply.

You say you want an installation you can access. How do you want that set up – do you just want to access the blog as it stands now or do you want me to make a separate installation of WordPress and add all the posts etc? That will take a long time…

Let’s start at the beginning, you say that you can’t install WordPress, can you elaborate on exactly what the problem is? Also, who is you host and are you trying to install via an automated script of by using FTP / SFTP to upload the core files?

If you already have a working copy of WP installed, and the theme is installed but won’t activate is there an error message?

    Whats the site URL?

To access the site, can you create a username / password for me with admin access, and email the details to support {at} jamesmorrisondesign {dot} com with the subject:

and I’ll have a look into this for you.

Hello – I did not say that I can’t install WordPress – it has been installed successfully since the beginning of the site.

I can install the theme as well, but when I do it breaks the blog – nothing works the way it should.

I can install other WordPress themes, some from other authors and some I have made myself, and they all work. It is just the Display theme that breaks down.

I will set up a username and password for you – how will I let you know what it is – by e-mail?

I have set up an account and e-mailed it to you more than a week ago. I have had no reply from you and now I see that you have marked this topic as resolved. But I am still having so many issues with this theme – I hardly know where to start. Did you actually go and look at it?

    Please respond.
