Navigation Problems

hey guys,

i have two problems at my navi
1. with the code
#menu-item-search {
display: none;
}
in quick css
i hide the search button on my navi bar but my last “seperator” between the navi points is missing

2. my second problem with the navigation is that i cant find a way to display and change colour for the “active menu indicator”
