    I believe Lightbox is part of the Sentence theme. Is that correct? (Cick on an image and it comes up as an overlay to the page–perhaps it’s called PrettyPhoto.) If so, I want to create that overlay effect but include a number of images in the grouping using the back and forth arrows. Can you tell me the code that I would use to create that? Now, I don’t want to create a slideshow ON the blog post. I just want to use a text link to activate the lightbox overlay and then have people be able to go through a set of images.

    Thx.

    BTW, here’s an example of what I’m talking about: http://outtacontext.com/2002/08/on_becoming_a_m/

    If you go about halfway down the post and click on the word “photographer” it brings up the first photo I want to show. But I have others I’d like to show in this overlay. That’s the code setup I’m looking for. Thx.

    Have a look at the prettyphoto project page: http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/ which shows you how to create a slideshow gallery. Basically you just need to create a simple text link which points to a image (jpg or png). Then add rel=”lightbox[gallery]” to all links and prettyphoto will merge them into a slideshow. Eg the code will look like:

    <a href="images/fullscreen/1.jpg" rel="lightbox[gallery]">Image 1 Link Text</a>

    <a href="images/fullscreen/2.jpg" rel="lightbox[gallery]">Image 2 Link Text</a>

    I got that, Dude. But, I only want one text link showing. Not a number of them for each image.

    In this case I’d just hide the other links with css like:

    <a href="images/fullscreen/1.jpg" rel="lightbox[gallery]">Image 1 Link Text</a>

    <a href="images/fullscreen/2.jpg" rel="lightbox[gallery]" style="display:none;">Image 2 Link Text</a>

    Will try. Thx.

    Hi outtacontext,

    You can also put the group of images not used into a custom div that only serves to hide the content inside. Then you can easily add groups in anywhere. Something like:

    <div class="custom-hide-me">
    ...your content to hide...
    </div>

    and the css:

    .custom-hide-me {display:none;}

    The first way worked. But the second way is much easier. Thanks, Devin.
