Hi guys, i want to put a full width container above the start of the footer and maybe have a one line call to action button, is this possible? i did try in the footer.php with some success but i would love to be able to change what is displayed in this container via the widgets area!, is it possible to use the “Sidebar Pages” option as im not using this at all and add my own text??
Edit footer.php, find this code:
<!-- ####### FOOTER CONTAINER ####### -->
<div class='container_wrap <?php echo $extraClass; ?>' id='footer'>
Add this code below:
<?php dynamic_sidebar( 'footer-widget-sidebar' ); ?>
Edit functions.php then add this code:
'id' => 'footer-widget-sidebar',
'name' => __( 'Footer Widgets', $text_domain ),
'before_widget' => '<div id="%1$s" class="widget %2$s">',
'after_widget' => '<span class="seperator extralight-border"></span></div>',
'before_title' => '<h3 class="widgettitle">',
'after_title' => '</h3>',
You can now go Appearance > Widgets > add widgets to the “Footer Widgets” widget area.
