    Hello, I am new to WordPress and am new to coding, so I know very little. I have some questions and concerns, can someone assist me please?

    My web site is a brand of retail products and I do not sell these products directly from this particular site. I have another web site that I use for all my orders and this new site that’s using the Propulsion theme links from it’s product pages to the other eCommerce site.

    1) I have add then deleted then added back a certain page. After three deletions and additions (because I kept making mistakes), my url adds a (-3) without the brackets at the end of the specific page. Why is this and how do I go about deleting the other 2 pages with the same name so as to make the third page appear without a (-3) at the end of the url page?

    2) On the sidebar, I would love to put images rather than text. I’ve now used the Propulsion widget (advertising area) to display 2 thumbs thus far. I wanted to know if there is another way/better way to put tiny pictures there that link to other pages on my site, rather than using the advertising widget over and over (or even if I can use the Advertising Widget multiple times across the majority of my entire site)? I want my sidebar to look like YouTube’s sidebar when you are viewing a video. I believe that one picture is equal to a thousand words.

    3) Is there a way to use Propulsions contact form multiple times for different kinds of contacts (i.e.- a customer contact form on one page, a wholesalers contact form on another page, a reviewers contact form on another etc. etc.)?

    4) Slider on main page won’t display full side to side even with larger image sizes (930×340). Any thoughts on what could cause that and how to remedy this please?

    5) I have several web pages that show all my products within that specific category. The only way I have figured out how to display all my products within that category is to use the portfolio. The problem here is when I click on the text link below the portfolio image I am taken to a portfolio page and that small image now is massive. What I need to have happen is these products on any of my main product category pages need to be directed to the specific product page and not a portfolio page. In fact, I don’t really want people to have access to a portfolio page at all. How do I link portfolio thumbs to actual product pages and have them completely ignore anything to do with a “portfolio”?
    Thank you so much for the excellent theme. I paid a premium price for it and so far it’s really great. I’m almost finished with it, I just need to get these few issues address first. Cheers.

    Hey!

    1. You need to remove those from the Trash too.

    2. You can actually use a Widget any times you want, you can also use the img HTML tag in a Text Widget:

    <img src="_image_url_here_" />

    3. I’d recommend you to use a dedicated plugin for that:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/‎

    4. Can you post a link to your website?

    5. That’s not quite possible out of the box, one workaround would be to make redirections:

    Best regards,

    Hello Josue, Thank you very much for your reply. My website is xtracgear.com. If you can please check out my product categories from the top menu bar, you will see the problem I have with regards to url in the text link below each product. Can you share your thoughts on what would be the best route to take for me as I want the image + the text to both link to the same product page rather then the image link to the product page and the text link to a portfolio gallery.

    Again, I so very much appreciate your assistance with my site.

    Hey!

    You want both the image and the titile to link to (ex):

    http://www.xtracgear.com/mouse-pads/hard-surface-mouse-pads/zoom/

    Is that correct?

    Best regards,
    Josue

    Yes sir, that is absolutely correct. If I could somehow either mask/redirect/delete the reference to the portfolio “folder” on each of my products text links that would be absolutely brilliant.
    -Cheers

    RE: Sidebar images addition (one of my other issues that I had yet to resolve…. unrelated to the text + image linking to the same location)
    I tried using the built-in Propulsion Sidebar Blog Widget. What I did was choose a title (in this case…. Our Products) and noticed the drop down menu for how many entries I want to display and voila! Now I have all my products listed as images in my sidebar. Can I increase the maximum entries to display beyond the 20 limit?

    Hi!

    Add this at the end of js/avia.js:

    jQuery(function() {
    jQuery(".portfolio-sort-container .post-entry").each(function(){
       theHref = jQuery(this).find(".slideshow_container a").attr("href");
       jQuery(this).find('.post-title a').attr("href", theHref);
    });
    });

    Cheers!

    Hi! Thank you so much. Can you help me to navigate to where I can find js/avia.js please? I am assuming it’s somewhere in Appearance->Editor-> then a template maybe? I am new to WordPress and not much of a coder by any means. My WordPress site was installed using 1-click if that matters. I realize now that I don’t seem to have direct access to any of my folders on my hosting site now.

    #261901

    Hey!

    In order to edit Avia.js file, you need to access via FTP. You should go to wp-content/themes/enfold/js folder and Avia.js file is inside there.

    Regards,
    Yigit

    Thank you Yigit, with WordPress 1-click installs don’t seem to have the same directory tree as a manual installation from what I understand. I am looking now at my FTP through FileZilla FTP client and my directory tree looks nothing like what you have described. In fact it looks like this:
    ————————–
    logs
    MailDir > cur/new/tmp
    .alias
    .bash_profile
    .bashrc
    .cshrc
    ————————–
    I realize I am supposed to see this…. directory tree

    Since I don’t seem to have access to my WP folders and files via FTP or Dashboard through my hosting service, can I save that js scrpit as a txt file and upload it as a plugin from my PC to have it work properly?

    Hi!

    Try using this plugin to edit it from the Dashboard:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/solid-code-theme-editor/

    Regards,
    Josue

    Wow, that’s really brilliant! Cheers m8 :) That did the trick (mostly). Hovering over the text causes a “Read more—>” link to appear. That link points to the portfolio-items also. Is there a way to make that also to default to the actual product page rather than the portfolio-items page?

    #262617

    Hey!

    Change the code to:

    jQuery(function() {
    jQuery(".portfolio-sort-container .post-entry").each(function(){
       theHref = jQuery(this).find(".slideshow_container a").attr("href");
       jQuery(this).find('.post-title a, .more-link').attr("href", "google.com");
    });
    });

    Regards,
    Josue

    #262705

    Thank you Josue, why add the google.com? Does that form a sort of 301 redirect via google back to my web site? I tried it and it didn’t really work out :( Thank you so much for trying, it was a clever attempt to be sure. Are there any other things I can do instead of a redirect away from my site?

    #262795

    Apologies, that was the code i used first to test, use this:

    jQuery(function() {
    jQuery(".portfolio-sort-container .post-entry").each(function(){
       theHref = jQuery(this).find(".slideshow_container a").attr("href");
       jQuery(this).find('.post-title a, .more-link').attr("href", theHref);
    });
    });

    Cheers!
    Josue
