This is a follow up to a post from a few days ago …

I had an "interesting" day yesterday. I updated the Flashlight theme and obviously did something wrong. I ended up breaking the whole site - no background image, Prettyphoto galleries not working - that migrated into the blank, white screen. Eventually I started from scratch so am now on WP 3.3.1 and Flashlight 1.5.2 and seems to be ok now. More on this at the end of the post.
I managed to get about half my issues resolved, plus I have a few new questions.
1. For blog entries, I do NOT want a gallery. I simply want a featured image that will link directly to a particular gallery. Right now, I placed an image in my blog by using the "Upload/Insert" link, then going to my Media Gallery and selecting the image as a featured image. Not sure if this is the correct way to do it but it is looking exactly as I want it. I do not want the magnifying glass function on the featured image - it just needs to link to a gallery.
2.When you click on Categories, will it only go back to the original blog posts(s)? I was hoping to have it display portfolio entries only under the corresponding category.
3. To show full (or longer blog posts) is this the correct procedure?

4. Can the EXIF info show up in the actual Prettyphoto window? Right now it only displays when you hover on some of the list views.
5. Getting back to updating the theme - what is the correct procedure for this? Googling it came up with a number of different methods. In the end, I uploaded a new Flashlight theme folder (gave it a new name) and chose it. It was then that everything went haywire. Did I do this incorrectly?
Thanks!
