This is an awesome theme...but I have no idea how to make my site look like Kriesi's. Can someone refer me to a newbie 'guide' of some sort or will I have to learn coding completely or read hours of Wordpress tutorials?
Am I asking or expecting too much to have some documentation 'guide' showing me steps of how to get on my way with Aviso?

A documentation is included in your themeforest package. Please have a look at it.
If you want to design your site like Kriesi or want to customize it so it looks "special" you're right - you need to learn coding or you need to hire a freelancer to do it for you. You can't expect to get an extraordinary, customized website for just 40$ - this is only possible if you have some css, php, html and designing skills.
