Newbie to WP - No Home Page Options on Corona Theme

   Hi Guys, can anyone help? I have no Wordpress experience at all. I got a friend to install the Corona Theme on a self-hosting server.
   All looks good except I have no options under the Home page. Therefore cannot see any of the Slider options
