Newscast author permalink issue

Hi;
I'm using newscast for an online school paper and there's an issue with the author permalinks.
As we all know to access all posts by an author http://mysite.com/author/name works and this is exactly the link on posts on this theme. However when the link is clicked it redirects to the front page by stripping the rest of the url after http://mysite.com.
I just checked the demo at themeforest and there it works and as such this is probably not an issue caused by the theme itself. Nevertheless I kindly request you to at least show me the right direction for resolving this issue. I have bought three themes from Kriesi and as such I feel I'm obliged to at least this much support.
