A more general question regarding people using NextGen Gallery with the Abundance theme. I’ve been trying to install the plugin but it seems to cause a lot of mess in the CSS handling… WP is lost sometimes. For example, activating the plugin modifies the alignment in the caption part for the AviaSlider (it becomes center instead of a left alignement). When trying to display a gallery as an image list, it seems to overlap with the native WP Gallery function (i have a “double” image, one using the WP Gallery display and one using the NextGen Gallery display). even if I desactivate the CSS in Nexgen option, i still have weird results my image list. How do you integrate properly this plugin ? What is your advice on using NextGen gallery with Abundance ?

If the plugin causes conflict (in this case, I think it is more of css conflict, with the names of the classes, etc), I don’t think there is a proper way of integrating the plugin, no matter what method you use in integrating the plugin, as soon as it will be activated the issue will rise. I think it would be more of changing some codes or names in the plugin or in the theme to prevent the conflict. Anyway, I’ll just tag Kriesi to mark his attention on this issue. :)

I like the portfolio view that there is in propulsion. That would be great to have this feature in Abundance. A good gallery is definitely missing.
Do you think it could be available as a plugin ?August 1, 2012 at 10:53 am #85246
You can use alternative plugins for the gallery. Try to check this link: http://www.dynamicwp.net/articles-and-tutorials/25-most-downloaded-free-wordpress-image-gallery-plugins/. You might find some great plugins in there. Hope you can find an image gallery plugin which won’t conflict with the theme. :)
