though I like the autoplay stopping after a mouse click I would like to know how it is possible to let the autoplay continue after having clicked a specific image (control button)?

This is possible though would require resonable modification of the theme to acomplish. I can pass your comments onto Kriesi to consider your feature request for future updates.
