No excerpt on single (single.php) posts for "Newscast Sidebar News"

Home page, archive, category, author, they all show the News & Reviews sidebar (with Newscast Sidebar News widget) as advertised: http://www.likoma.com, http://www.likoma.com/author/scott-james/, etc.

But if I go to a single post, the excerpt doesn't show up. http://www.likoma.com/web-2-0-for-the-novel

I think I tracked it down to lines 51-53 in sidebar_news.php (framework/theme_widgets), but I can't get it to work.

if($small_prev) echo $small_prev;
the_excerpt(); ?>`

Any thoughts? Vielen dank, Kriesi. Did I mention I'm a HUGE fan!

Hey,

This does look like a bug but not one I've come across before. I note that you're using version 1.2.2 (http://www.likoma.com/wp-content/themes/newscast/style.css) and the latest version is 2.0 (http://www.kriesi.at/themes/newscast/wp-content/themes/newscast/style.css) - I don't have a copy of 1.2.2 so will ask Kriesi to comment on whether this was a bug which was fixed.

Hey James,

Thanks about 2.0, didn't realize there was an upgrade. So I just upgraded, but still on posts and pages, the news still only shows title and thumb, no excerpt.

Hey,

I guess this wasn't a bug which was fixed in 2.0 though I note that this is the first time this error has been reported.

Have you modified any theme files? If you disable all your plugins does this now work?
