No Meta-Description and correct Title showing at "domain.com/shop/" page

Hello,
I have setup all titles and descriptions nicely using the Yoast SEO Plugin. However, on the shop page it does not pull the data from the plugin (it pulls the canonical tag, so it is working to some degree). The title is "Produkte - Blogname" and no description is pulled at all. Since the shoppage is pretty important in the hierarchy my site, I need to put proper titles in there.

I think the best way would be some kind of conditional tag to say that if the page is "shop" then use this title else use the kriesi theme title.

PS: I also changed the "noindex" for archive pages to "index", since I want them to enter the serps

Hi,

Have you tried looking at all the settings in Yoast to make sure you are not adding the name of website elsewhere? Please read here http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wordpress-seo-by-yoast-problem-with-wordpress-seo-and-woocommerce-category-display

You should ask this question on the forums for the Yoast or WooCommerce plugins as well since they know how their plugins interact with each other better than I and also since 3 heads are better than 1. :)

Hi Nick,

that does not help, all the other categories use the correct information but the main store page doesn´t. It is also difficult to get my head around it: the /shop/ page is a regular page with no other information on it. I is selected as the shop-page through the woocommerce backend. I also added the title and description info there with no effect.

I also filed a question to the wootheme ninjas. I hope that they can help. Yoast does not give support for his plugin sadly.
Well see what happens I guess ;)

Hi Christian,

I think the issue is that WooCommerce uses the page designation to fill in all the data it needs for each of its page types (checkout, catalog, order tracking etc) and so it ignore anything of value on that page.

Since Yoast doesn't provide support and neither does WooComerce unless you have purchased something from them its a bit of a tricky situation as we are pretty limited on what we can help with on third party plugin interaction.

In german this is called "Archive von Artikeltypen" in the Title & Meta Section of the yoast plugin. I would have never associated this with the Shop Page only.

So it indeed does the trick and solves my issue here.

I hope this is useful for some other people as well.
