    Hi there,

    i’m trying to set the recommended single background image in the general settings of the theme (…for the case that the fullwidth background image gallery doesn’t load yet.)

    If i choose the repeat mode ‘no repeat’, ‘repeat’, ’tile horizontally’ or ’tile vertically’ everything works fine.

    But it is not possible to choose the 5th option: ‘fullscreen’.

    In this case the single background image don’t load.

    Could you give some advice please how you can load the (small) single background image in fullscreen mode ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey blogwaeltler!

    Can we see your site live with the setting for Fullscreen selected?

    Best regards,
    Devin

    Hi!

    You can just add the background using this on Quick CSS:

    body {
    background-color: #282828;
    background-color: red;
    }

    If you want to use an image, you can use this:

    body {
    background: url(IMAGE URL HERE) repeat;
    }

    Hi Ismael,

    unforunately this doesn’t work.
    (I can use the general settings in the theme for the background single image and with ‘no repeat’, ‘repeat’, ’tile horizontally’ or ’tile vertically’ everything works fine. Also i can choose there the background color.
    ‘No repeat’ would be possible to choose, but in this case the image isn’t in the middle of the screen.)

    The problem is the option ‘fullscreen’ : The image url don’t load.

    If i use your 2 second suggestion ‘loading the background image with the Quick CSS field’:

    The image is loading (…you can see this in the site information of Firefox), but you can’t see the .jpg (…or even a .png-file) on the screen.

    With the site inspector you can see under body id=”top” that the background image is now available, but if I disable there one point after another (…background-color, etc.) you can never see this loaded background image.

    Do you have any recommendations ?

    Best regards,

    Hello Ismael,
    it’s me again.

    At the moment I’m thinking about the option to modify the header.php with an image_backround class and to change the z-indexes of the elements.

    Maybe this could work. I will see it in the next hour.

    Hi Ismael,

    now i’m using the following workaround:

    I can’t use ‘body {…}’ because i would like to have a line of text in the middle of the screen behind the slideshow.
    For this i could choose ‘body {position: fixed, …height & width 100%…, background img url,…} but in this circumstance i will have a fixed body – a disadvantage if you have a .content-box which is larger as the screen.

    So i have edited the header.php with a class for a (transparent) *.png-file and the text inside.

    In the css-file i wrote the following code:

    .textbased_backround {
        position: fixed;
        z-index: 5;
        width: 100%;
        height: 100%;
        background-repeat: no-repeat;
        background-position: center center;
        background-image: url("http://path-to-file/name-of.png");
    }

    Any other solution for a fullscreen single image file are welcome.

    Best regards,

    Hi!

    Did your solution above work? If yes then we’re glad you figured it out, if not then maybe you can use this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-backgrounds-lite/

    Best regards,
    Ismael
