i want to reduce and limit the number of characters used in the slider excerpt area. right now, there are approximately 430 characters in the mentioned area. you can see the screenshot here http://i42.tinypic.com/2eahxk5.png

how can i do that?

I'm trying to locate this problem but I can't seem to find where exactly to edit the excerpt length.

Hey!

As far as I know you can use the "except" field to enter any custom excerpt text of your choice (eg make the text shorter or use a custom excerpt because of seo reasons).
