Plugins like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-type-converter/ help you to convert existing entries into different post types. Eg you can convert posts into products and vice versa. I'd make a database backup first (just to be on the safe side).

Hi ChaosWeb,
Abundance applies the category /shop/ to the URL so I believe the final URL will be yourdomain.com/shop/permalink-of-your-product/. So that said, you may need to use a redirection plugin like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/redirection/ to help with any 404 errors.
