I have some galleries that have a few hundred pictures in them. How do I just show 1 thumb then when they click the thumb it opens the lightbox and they can scroll through the rest. I can't get this to work with the WP uploader or by following the instructions on the plugins website. Can this be pre-made into a template in the code?

As far as I know this is not possible because the lightbox requires standard a href links to load the images. You can try to hide all other thumbnails/links with display:none however this will not improve the loading speed because the browser loads the source file anyway.
