I’ve setup a slideshow on my home page and have applied a manual link to one of the slides in the “Caption Advanced” tab of my home page. Is there an easy way to get that to open in a new window?
Thanks for your help!
Open includes > helper-slideshow.php, find this code
if($button) $button = "<a class='avia-button on-primary-color primary-background primary-border caption-slideshow-button $nextSlide ".$key."class' href='$button' title='' >".$slide[$key.'title']."</a>";
Replace it with:
if($button) $button = "<a target='_blank' class='avia-button on-primary-color primary-background primary-border caption-slideshow-button $nextSlide ".$key."class' href='$button' title='' >".$slide[$key.'title']."</a>";
Replaced code but still not opening in a new window. Any other strategies??
Can you post a link to the website please? We’ll investigate the html code to find the reason why it’s not working.
http://www.shawgraphicdesign.com (its the third slider image that says “Click to View Catalog”)
The code above will make a button you add to the slide open in a new window but not the slide itself which would actually effect all slideshows throughout the theme.
So what you should do is remove the button from the image and the link on that slide. Then go to the Caption Advanced tab on that image and fill in the fileds for the Caption Call to Action button.
Thanks for looking into but i don’t want the slide to open in a new window. Maybe I’m not understanding correctly but I just want to have a new “linked” window opened up. For example, the slide that has a button that says “click to view catalog” (created in PS) should when you click on it, open a new window with the linked URL that was placed in “captions default”. Right now it just will open in same window.
Thanks and hope I’m making sense.
