I am getting the following error:
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 50069504) (tried to allocate 174903 bytes) in /home/soccer/public_html/_sites/store/wp-content/themes/replete/replete/css/dynamic-css.php on line 390
This is exactly the same error reported by clamant75 on May 16, 2013 at 2:30 pm ( #23365). I could only find one reply by Dude ( #119528) telling him to load the wp-serverinfo plugin. He asked what was in the memory-limit row but not what it should be.
I loaded the plugin – my memory limit says:
PHP Memory Limit 256.0 MiB
My site was working great. My server updated our database and since then I can not edit anything. I can log into the admin area but my pages and products pull up blank white pages. The quick edits do work. But if I try to update the theme it lets me in, lets me make the changes but gives the that error when I try to save them
My server support is telling me this is a software issue – a theme problem – they can’t help. I say they changed something but I don’t know what to tell them to change back. I need help to get my site working properly again.

Please give us a link to the website. 256M should be enough to hold the theme and other plugins that you need to install. How many plugins do you have? If you can’t access dashboard, access the site via ftp or your cpanel. Remove all plugin folders on wp-content/plugins folder.

Thanks for the reply.
The site is – http://thunderbeachusa.com/_sites/store/ – we are actually just starting to set it up so it is still pretty much the default Replete site.
It only has 4 active plugins – bbPress, TinyMCE Advanced, WooCommerce and WP-ServerInfo.
I had to switch themes to load the WP-Serverinfo plugin – it failed in Replete because of lack of memory.
I have tried to load this theme on another test site just to see if it would work but I am having problems there too. I can’t get the WooCommerce to load there – again lack of memory.
I can get into my admin area no problem. The problem now is in adding or updating anything. Basically I can’t. Adding or updating pages or products all I get is a blank white page – like a php error. Editing the theme itself seems to work until I try to save the changes – then I get an error message.
I didn’t change anything that should have caused this – just page & theme edits – but they did an upgrade on our server that affected our database. I am sure it is a database setting but I don’t know which one. Worse my server support insists it is a program error and not their problem.

This is new this morning – I tried to pull up a page just to make sure it was still broke and instead of getting my list of pages I got this error message:
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 50069504) (tried to allocate 122881 bytes) in /home/soccer/public_html/_sites/store/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2765October 23, 2013 at 4:51 pm #179777
50069504 bytes converts to 47.75 megabytes (47.75mb) – the memory limit can’t be set to 256mb. Please contact your hoster and ask them to check the server configuration. The memory limit should be at least 128M.

I just heard back from my server support. – this is what they say:
I am not sure where you are getting the 256 number from but that is inaccurate. Your memory limit for php was set to 100mb but I increased it to 128mb. Your post_max value is set to 64mb. They were always more than 47mb so I am not sure why this is an issue for you. As you noted yourself, any other theme works without issue except the one you want to use. You can provide this url, http://thunderbeachusa.com/phpinfo.php, to the developer of theme if you still have issues and ask them to tell you specifically what to change because there is nothing left as far as I know.
Would you please check that link they give to see if you can see anything that would cause a problem.
http://thunderbeachusa.com/phpinfo.php. My question is why does this phpinfo.php and the wp-serverinfo plugin give different results.
I am stuck between server support saying it is a theme problem and you guys saying it is a server problem. I just need someone to find a solution. If it would help me get this fixed I would be glad to give you access to my site to see if you can see something – but not here.October 24, 2013 at 10:19 am #180175
The phpinfo states 128 mb but our debugging info shows that wordpress is still running on 64mb which could cause problems in certain situations. Not sure why its not 128mb but wordpress has its own memory limit variable that you can set in your config.php file, maybe this helps: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

Just to let you know my problem has been solved.
The problem was the memory limits of Apache. They said they removed the following lines from apache config to get it working
Cpanel adds these limits by calculating the memory your site needs based on previous usage. It looks like the values were wrong and it was causing all the trouble.
Thanks for your help. It made them dig deeper to find the solution.
