    Hello
I just upgrade to v2.5 and try parallax scrolling of background.
What does it suppose to do?
I put an image as background for a color section, set it to 25% height and chose parallax and i don’t see any changes, i mean the background image is fixed, nothing ‘move’… ?
    Thanks

    Hey pako69!

You will not see the parallax effect clearly if the height of the color section is small or if you don’t have a content above it. Please set the Background Repeat to “Stretch to fit”.

    Regards,
    Ismael

okey, i put above and under that color section a lot of Lorem ipsum text, my image is set to at leat50% and Stretch to fit, but i don’t see any parallax effect…
    What i’m supposed to see?
I can’t show you my test because it’s on locahost, but can’t you update you demo site with the lastest version and new updates ?

    Hi,

It doesn’t work for me either.

Set all the images as parallax with “Stretch to fit”, but no movement whatsoever.

You can see it here: (michaelr.nl/over)

    Any help would be welcome!

    Hi!

It isn’t an overtly big effect at the moment and may be tweaked later but it is, pretty much, the same thing as having a fixed image in the background.

    Best regards,
    Devin

So you have add a feature that do the same thing than a fixed background image but this new feature do nothing visible… ?
    Strange, don’t you think ?
    /-)

    #222290

    Exactly!

It’s also strange that is does work on some pages, randomly.
When adding some text or something it could stop working. Very strange

    #222294

Do you have an example it not working/working?

The effect on a background image alone is slight. When adding other elements is when you get more of the visual effect. For an example look at the first video element in the demo here and its text: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/homepage/home-v9-videos-and-parallax/

They move at slightly different speeds which gives the user the feeling they are at different positions. This is the very definition of Parallax:
the effect whereby the position or direction of an object appears to differ when viewed from different positions, e.g., through the viewfinder and the lens of a camera.

    Thanks for your reply.

You can watch it enabled (but not working) on: http://michaelr.nl/over/
Here some random test page where it does work: http://michaelr.nl/testt/

Here’s the original page, just fixed: http://wp.michaelr.nl/over/
(Local version, could be much slower)

I also enabled it on my homepage, but it dons’t work there either.

So it’s strange that it does work on some pages, and some don’t.

    Thanks!

Clear all of your cache from plugins and unminify the pages. Re-publish and try the pages again.

    Tried that, didn’t help.

I even disabled the caching plugin. Tried with different browsers on multiple Windows and Mac machines.

I realy think that the best way shoud be to set up you demo theme with that feature… and the new version of Enfold

@mmichael1991 – I would suggest for now to change them to fixed backgrounds. I need to talk to Kriesi to confirm but it looks like the parallax setting uses the content within the color section to establish a movement baseline. Eg, where the eye would see the change in perspective.

Edit: Try updating the theme with the most recent version on ThemeForest. It should be 2.5.1. Kriesi said it should work even with nothing inside. If 2.5.1 isn’t up on ThemeForest yet it should be soon.

    Hi!
2.5.1 was not approved yet but it should be within the next few hours. this should fix the problem. currently there needs to be a slideshow anywhere on the page to make sure the parallax effect gets activated.

A dependency I did overlook when creating the demo, since I always had a fullscreen slider at the top of the page :P

    Sorry for the confusion :)
    Best regards,
    Kriesi

Found the same issue, but awaiting 2.5.1. Thanks guys. And overall, GREAT update! Thank you!
