If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I have tried everything including searching the forum for my issue.
Problem – On my website, http://www.terriblemeek.com/HOL-WP/donate-2, I have a Paypal Donate button. All I want is for the button to open in a new tab/page/window. It will not.
Troubleshooting tried –
1. I have used target=”_blank” and target=”_new”.
2. I have reached out to paypal; they say it should work with target=”_blank”
3. Whenever I inspect the element of the page target=”_blank” has changed to target=”_top” – I don’t know what top means but it won’t hold the blank code.
4. When I am in the editor, and I click on update or the visual tab, the Donate button in my editor will open a new tab/page like I want. However, when I click on preview changes, refresh the screen, my Donate button will not go to the new tab and the element has been changed from blank to top.
Please help. This site is being reviewed to go live, and once I resolve the Paypal issues, I should be done.
Thank you so much for your assistance and remember to please respond as if you’re responding to a novice! ;-)
This issue can be closed. I don’t know exactly what I did to fix the issue but I removed some links that appear to have been hardcoded into the dynamic template by our developer and repasted the original code from paypal into all the pages where the button had been created and not just the one that appeared to be associated with the page. Thanks!
