I have posted on this issue before, it keeps recurring. Today...my entire portfolio is non-existant with 404 error messages. I have reset the permalinks, reloaded the settings page, a 100 times. I really need help in permanently resolving this issue, can you help me in anyway to get my portfolio back up?

Me again. I read through all the posts hoping there would be a solution. I also changed my custom structure which was: "/%category%/%postname%/' to "/archives/%post_i%" This managed to bring my portfolio back up and fully functional, however....the posts fro the blog now do not have their blog names, just a post number, does that make any sense to you?

Hi,
Instead of using /archives/%post_id%/ try using /archives/%post_name%/ instead. Hope it works. :)

Hi Ismael, well... that didn't fix it, but after I tried that, and the reposted the original permalink breadcrumb.... it functions again. I still do not have an answer on this, which occurs on a frequent basis - and makes my site go down. Is there someone I can hire from your team to look into this?

Hi zannasf,
I would suggest contacting your sites hosting and checking to see if they have any suggestions that might help. With the popularity of wordpress and the high frequency of permalink errors they might have dealt with the situation before and be able to help set things up to work better for you.
You can also read the page on the wordpress codex concerning permalinks: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks

Devin
