Thank you once again for the fantastic corona template! I would appreciate some help on these topics…..
1) Although they were working last week, for the past few days the larger pictures on my templates are failing to load…the page shows this: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘=’, expecting ‘)’ in /home/lukbeaut/public_html/test/wp-content/themes/corona/footer.php on line 24
2) When logged in to edit as admin editing can take place, but then when returning to viewing the page, I am logged out from further editing. Any thoughts?
Thank you!December 13, 2011 at 8:52 am #58368
this sounds like a js/php error. Try to deactivate all plugins – maybe one conflicts with the theme. If this doesn’t help post a link to your website please.December 13, 2011 at 10:36 pm #58369
Thanks for the reply. I already had no plugins activated, however after your message I deleted a new one I had uploaded. There is no difference. The link is http://lukbeautifood.com.au/test/?page_id=836 you will see the images are not loading on this page or any others. If possible I would also like to know how to assign a post to a particular page only – is it using categories/tags/or the template used.???
I hope you understand and can resolve these issues.December 14, 2011 at 12:03 pm #58370
Mmm.. ok the problem is caused by a php error in footer.php (the whole footer section including scripts, etc. is missing). WP output following error:
<b>Parse error</b>: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in <b>/home/lukbeaut/public_html/test/wp-content/themes/corona/footer.php</b> on line <b>24</b><br />
Please try to upload all theme files and wp core files again – maybe one or more files are corrupt.December 16, 2011 at 11:58 am #58371
Sorry but i have no idea what you mean. Are you saying start again? Am guessing you mean i go back to my hosting company and ask them to do that as i have no idea where to start? Will all the post & media library, menu/s be retained or am i back to scratch on content. I lost all my dynamic templates this morning as i ticked “Import Dummy data” so feeling at loss. I am new to WP but was creating an amazing site for a first time user.December 18, 2011 at 5:32 am #58372
yes, Dude suggested you start with a whole new WordPress installation and a clean installation of the theme. It’s great what you can do with WordPress, don’t let this get to you, I’m sure it’ll be worth the effort in the end.December 19, 2011 at 5:07 am #58373
tx Chris – do you know if i can keep the posts already written or the image library? I know it will take ages trying to work out how to do that so it would be great to get a quick nod and point in the right direction of how to do.December 19, 2011 at 1:03 pm #58374
my suggestion affects all php/wp files. Your database (including posts, media entries, etc.) won’t be affected at all. I’d use a ftp software like fielzilla, download the latest wp files from here: http://wordpress.org/download/ , unpack them and upload them to your server root folder. Then upload the theme files again. That’s it.
