    I went through and edited the dummy portfolio entries with my own content, and now the category selections are gone. I have no idea what went wrong here.

    Also, is there a way to disable the “Read More” link on portfolio entries?

    Thanks in advance.

    In the Portfolio options panel you need to add the categories to the portfolio you want them to show up for. Make sure they are selected here – if you had dummy categories selected which were deleted they would disappear from the Portfolio page.

    To remove the “Read More” links, open up template_portfolio.php find and remove this code:

    echo "<a href='".get_permalink()."' class='more-link'>".__('Read more','avisio')."</a>";

    Thanks for the reply. All categories are selected in the Portfolio options panel. Here’s a screenshot:

    I should have pointed out that all of the (new) categories were there at one time, and then disappeared.

    I’ve done a bit more digging, the function is there (look at the source to see the categories there) but there’s a JS conflict so the function doesn’t run correctly.

    Try disabling all your plugins to see which one caused the problem :)

    I had ‘Contact Form 7’ and ‘WPtouch iPhone Theme’ activated. I disabled both of them, but the categories didn’t return. The ‘WPtouch iPhone Theme’ was newly installed… and may have been installed around the time the categories stopped working.

    I also should note that I made some changes to template_portfolio.php to try and remove the sort by Nate/Date options… but I restored the original template_portfolio file when I couldn’t get it to work properly.

    If you’ve disabled all your plugins and are using original theme files, I’m not sure what to suggest. Your theme JS files are there so it’s not something obvious like that and I can see the different categories in the page source (Burgers etc) so it’s not that you haven’t selected categories on the Portfolio Options page.

    Can you set me up a WP admin account and email the details to support {at} jamesmorrisondesign {dot} com with the subject:

    Kriesi | Cleancut | AirRocker | Portfolio Categories Disappeared

    and I’ll take a look.
