    Hi,

When I create a portfolio item, it does create a permalink (something like: /portfolio-item/name).
I did use a mason gallery inside, and placed some photos.

When I published it, WordPress just said the normal thing: Page created. Click here to view.

When I go to the item, I saw the error 404 page.

    URL: http://goedkope-bruidsfotograaf.nl/portfolio-item/voorbeeldmap-bruiloften/

    Wordpress backend

    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael64142!

Please try to flush the permalink settings on Settings > Permalink. Click the “Save” button once. If you have access on the .htaccess file, delete it then flush the permalink settings again.

    Cheers!

Hi Ismael, I have similar problem. Your suggestion of flushing permalink works. However it looks like I have to flush every time I make adjustment in portfolio otherwise error page will come back. I am concerned if this will continue to happen in the future frequently, Is there any solution to solve this problem permanently?

    Thanks

    Hi!

There shouldn’t be any need to do that since the rewrite rules only need to be properly generated once and then once in a while if WordPress somehow messes up the htaccess but not every time you make a save.

You can try deactivating all active plugins in case there is one that is causing a conflict but I’ve not run across any instance where the permalink structure is continually in need of a refresh.

    Regards,
    Devin

I’m also having this same problem.

Resaving the permalink settings in WP-admin fixes it, but it comes back randomly and often (multiple times every day). What’s going on?
