    On my home page I want a portfolio item to link to a page instead of the portfolio entry.

    I was able to link the the “Support Us” portfolio featured image to the correct page using the “Featured Image” link settings. However if a user clicks on the “Support Us” title or the “Read More” link they are taken to the portfolio entry instead of the “Support Us” page. How can I fix this?

    Hi,

    Instead of the Portfolio element, you can use the Columns element. Select 4 columns, on Column Content, select Single page. You need to create a new page to mimic the portfolio items that you want to use. On Overwrite default Link, fill the url then select Preview image and post content. Do this on the 3 remaining columns.

    I see how that solution would work, but I’ve just trained my client on how to use the portfolio capabilities to create those 4 items on the home page. Any other way to do it with custom css for that particular portfolio post?

    Hi,

    No, you can’t accomplish that with CSS. I can’t think of other way to accomplish it. Let me tag the rest of the support team.

    In includes/loop-portfolio.php replace:

    echo "<a href='".get_permalink()."' rel='bookmark' title='".__('Permanent Link:','avia_framework')." ".get_the_title()."'>".get_the_title()."</a>";

    with

    $linktarget = '';
    $slides = avia_post_meta($postID, 'slideshow');

    if(!empty($slides[0])){
    $linktarget = avia_get_link($slides[0], 'slideshow_', '', $postID);
    }

    if(empty($linktarget)){
    $linktarget = get_permalink();
    }
    echo "<a href='".$linktarget."' rel='bookmark' title='".__('Permanent Link:','avia_framework')." ".get_the_title()."'>".get_the_title()."</a>";

    and

    echo '<a class="more-link" href="'. get_permalink().'">'.__('Read more  &rarr;','avia_framework').'</a>';

    with

    echo '<a class="more-link" href="'. $linktarget.'">'.__('Read more  &rarr;','avia_framework').'</a>';
