    Hi!

    I really need a helping answer to the following questions, please:

    1. Would it somehow be possible to have the meta fields for the portfolio entries on two columns? I have managed to resize the image slideshow to a width of 350px, leaving the description with 550 px, therefore I would need the data to go on two columns, rather than one.

    2. The “8 latest portfolio entries” (latest-portfolio-archive) which is on the Archive template – how could I also get it to show in a space on my home page? I managed to separate it in a new template I’ve made, so it has no sidebar or latest blog posts. However, I cannot get its content to appear on my home page no matter what :(

    Thank you!

    Hi ,

    To show the last 8 portfolio entries, you need to make a dynamic template and add it to your homepage

    Hi, Nick!

    Thank you very much for your response.

    In fact, I was searching for a way to only get that part exactly as it looks here:

    http://www.kriesi.at/themes/angular/template-files/archivesitemap

    to show up in a column (that meaning a certain width, say 75%, not full width) on my dynamic frontpage template, where I defined the columns… As I said, I managed to isolate its code in a new template, clean up the sidebar, blog and archive links, and that’s pretty much it (I’m far from being a php guru, unfortunately).

    As I’ve read so far, it is a special page template, so any more help would be welcome.

    Also, my meta question still stands, it would be great if I could get an answer for that too? Even if it’s “nope, not possible to do it” :)

    Thank you.

    Jo

    Hi,

    Oh, I get it. You want the same archive page but only showing the portfolio items in the style of posts. No problem. Lets take care of this then we will address the other issue.

    1) Open up notepad and create an empty file called template-parchives.php

    2) Add the code below to the empty page, save and upload to server into the main theme folder.

    <?php
    global $avia_config, $more;
    get_header();
    ?>
    <!-- ####### MAIN CONTAINER ####### -->
    <div class='container_wrap <?php
    echo $avia_config['layout'];
    ?>' id='main'>
    <div class='container'>
    <?php
    echo avia_title();
    ?>
    <div class='template-archives content <?php
    echo $avia_config['content_class'];
    ?> units'>
    <div class="entry-content">
    <?php
    the_post();
    the_content();
    query_posts(array(
    'posts_per_page' => 8,
    'post_type' => 'portfolio'
    ));
    if (have_posts()):
    echo "<h3>" . __('The 8 latest Portfolio Items', 'avia_framework') . "</h3>";
    echo "<ul>";
    while (have_posts()):
    the_post();
    echo "<li><a href='" . get_permalink() . "' rel='bookmark' title='" . __('Permanent Link:', 'avia_framework') . " " . get_the_title() . "'>" . get_the_title() . "</a></li>";
    endwhile;
    echo "</ul>";
    endif;
    ?>
    </div>
    <!--end content-->
    </div>
    <?php
    wp_reset_query();
    $avia_config['currently_viewing'] = 'page';
    get_sidebar();
    ?>
    </div><!--end container-->
    </div>
    <!-- ####### END MAIN CONTAINER ####### -->
    <?php
    get_footer();
    ?>

    3) The End :)

    Thanks,

    Nick
