Hi,

now I just ran into another problem. Sorry ... It is the same problem that I had before I did a full re-install of wordpress as mentioned in my previous support request, so I'm quite quick here again ...

I created a new portfolio item after creating and translating a couple of portfolio categories. I created the porfolio item in my main language (german), put in some meta information and added a slideshow pic with some media information. Saved it (not published it), previewed it and it worked fine.

Then I did the translation by hitting the WPML "+"-button. I put in the translated meta information and saved (not published) it. After saving the meta information was gone! Did it again ... Nothing saved! When I published the german version it suddenly worked. But: Although all the meta information is present in the edit page, the meta information shows up only partially on the actual site when you click the preview pic (Ajax). Funny enough: Clicking the expanded pic in the english version then brings up the full meta information ... !!??

Again you can easily check that at http://www.christiane-dehmer.de/gesamtwerk/ if you switch languages there. You will find out, what's wrong.

I don't understand that. Again: This is clean wordpress installation with only a few pages ...

yes, I also have the strong impression, that there must be something wrong in the way the theme and WPML handles data on the edit side of wordpress. I'be been trying to figure it out for a couple of days now ... with no results. Saving the themes meta data only works correctly in the main language (as defined in WPML). As soon as you are working with translated portfolios you run into trouble. Articles and pages seem to work fine. But then ... article and pages don't have meta information.

An additional thing that's wrong: Go to http://www.christiane-dehmer.de/gesamtwerk/ and click the preview image. The portfolio will show up. now click the big portfolio image. The image will be zoomed. But: You will see that there is an image count of 2. But there is only one image uploaded. Maybe that's a separate problem, or it's related to the same problem as mentioned above.

If you need an admin account for checking out the problem on our site, just let me know. As you an imagine I would really like to have our site up and running soon ;-)

Just another Hint:

The image count is wrong as soon as you input some meta information for the slideshow image like caption or caption title. If these meta information fields are left empty the image count is correct. This also points into the wpml/flagship-conflict direction and it seems, that there is a problem with saving the meta information in such a way that WPML is interpreting them correctly. This is my non-programmer stupid-user way of explaining it ;-)

Next problem:

I simply cannot add videos to translated blog articles in the featured media tab. It's just not working in translations. It's just working in the main language.

You know what: We purchased the flagship theme because the description said it would support WPML. Well, I haven't seen much of that up to now ... There seem to be a lot of things broken ...

Is there anybody, who could give us some hope or a piece of information, that this would be fixed? We would very much appreciate that, because on the other side we very much like the theme in terms of layout and design.

Hi!

Thanks a lot! In the meantime I continued to work on the german part of the side so the links I posted before will not be correct anymore. I'm happy to give you any information you need to fix this WPML issue ... Looking forward to hear from you :-)

hey! we will add a compatibility release for wp3.4 and WPML soon, It seems a lot of things changed with those releases. meanwhile you might want to add this line at the bottom of your functions.php:
```
add_theme_support( 'avia_post_meta_compat');
```
this should re-enable the portfolio meta data

Hi & Thanks a lot!

I added the code as you proposed but it's still not working. Actually the english version of the portfolio entries shows the german meta field titles, the english meta field contents and is lacking the main content of the entry (in my case a soundcloud player that is perfectly working in the german version). The image count also is still wrong ...

I'm happy to hear that there will be a new release! That's good news and I hope it won't take to long to arrive ;-)
