    Hi,

    Congratulations on a great theme. Bought it 1 week ago but I just started editing it now.

    With that said, it would be nice if you do something about improving the search feature in the support forum. As one can not browse for subjects for a specific theme, it´s too time consuming. I gave up when I was on page 16 looking for “slides” threads in “Newscast”. Anyways…

    What I would like to change is the description inside the slider. I mean the description below the title of each slider. I just want the title to appear with no description.

    Another thing I want to change is the height of the space that covers the description and title. As it has a different background color, it takes away too much of the picture in the slider, at least for my taste. I´m guessing it takes like 40% of it? One site that handles this great is searchengineland.com. Notice it only appears the title, no description, and its space + background leaves tons of room for the main picture to show. Also, may the color of this title background be changed?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi edogpus,

    I’m not a fan of the search on here either but I’ve been slowly working on getting together some guides for customization for all the various themes. I’ve actually found it faster to google your question with the theme name in the title to find results on the forums than it is to use the search on here :)

    At the bottom of your style.css add the following:

    .position_excerpt, #top #featured .feature_excerpt {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #333;
    }
    #top.home .slidercontent {
    display: none;
    }
    #top #featured a {
    color: #fff;
    }

    I believe the height of the excerpt area is determined by its content. So if you don’t have any in it, it will be small.

    Hi Devin,

    Thanks for your help. I didn´t think about googling theme + keyword, lol. Hope you get those customization guides soon :)

    I pasted the code and it definitely improved, decreasing the height of the excerpt area. Nevertheless, I don´t feel it totally looks like I would want it to be. This is due to 2 reasons:

    1) Even though the height decreased, there´s still some good chunk of space above and below the post title in the slider which could be removed (except for one specific slider where the title is larger than the other ones so it takes more space).

    2) I think this is the most important thing: the background color of the excerpt in slider. The color is not transparent enough IMO and this is why I feel like it “removes a good chunk” from the image.

    Is there any way to improve this?

    Oh by the way, my site is http://www.unikorns.com.

    The big thing we won’t be able to change is that the excerpt area will adapt to the largest title and block of excerpt. So in your case, the Cat behavior title is big so the others all have lots of space above and below the titles.

    The two color options will actually need to have an !important tag on them since the individual style sheet for the color options overwrites the ones I gave you in stye.css.

    So in your style.css where you added the above, change it to be:

    .position_excerpt, #top #featured .feature_excerpt {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #333 !important;
    }
    #top.home .slidercontent {
    display: none;
    }
    #top #featured a {
    color: #fff !important;
    }

    Regards,

    Devin
