I've recreated it and no good. Seems no new posts are being added to the feed on the home page.

I think Newscast is intended to behave this way because showing the same posts twice (slider and blog) doesn't make much sense. However you can change this: open up index.php and replace:
$additional_loop = new WP_Query("cat=".$negative_cats."&paged=$paged");with:
$additional_loop = new WP_Query("&paged=$paged");You must log in to post.
