If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I have a photo (920×310) with text in it. I put it as the image on my page as the guide suggests, ajnd I can load up the page normally, andf when clicked the image looks fine.
However the preview is cropped, I noticed this because half the text was missing from the image.
Any fix for this?
WordPress/timthumb crop the image if the aspect ratio doesn’t fit. The problem was discussed here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out) and here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/featured-image-thumbnail-crop
At the moment it’s not possible to change the cropping process on an individual basis. You need to cut your images (also possible within WP since 3.0) or modify the text a bit.
