Problem when displaying items sorted by category in portfolio

Hi there,

First of all, great theme! The design and the features are outstanding! I am very satisfied!

I need your help with an issue regarding the portfolio. I am using a portfolio on two different pages: one on the homepage (which I have set in the template builder) and one on a single page (set in the theme options). Both portfolios are set to display all categories. On the homepage, I have set the portfolio to 4 colums and 4 items, and on the portfolio page I have set the portfolio to 4 colums and 32 items per page that display on three different pages.

When I click on the categories to sort the portfolio items, only the items in 3 out of 5 categories show up.

Moreover, when I sort the portfolio by clicking on a category, I still get the pagination at the bottom of the page (which is fine because i have many portfolio items) but when I click to change page, I get a to a "page not found" page.

I have made sure that there are items in every category and that all categories are selected both in the theme options for the portfolio page and in the template builder for the homepage.

I really don't understand what the issue is...

Finally, I found out that the portfolio did not display the categories I created AFTER publishing the portfolio, even if I went back to the options and selected the new categories as well. I created a new portfolio page, selected all the categories and everything works out fine, including pagination.

As for the homepage portfolio, it seems it will only show the first four items, regardless of the category selected. I decided to only display one category at a time so I no longer have display issues since there are no sorting options.

Would be great for you to fix these tweaks in upcoming updates!

Great theme anyway, I am still very satisfied with my purchase. Great job!

Hi zonart,

Glad you were able to find some fixes so far.

For the categories sorting function, it can only sort those items currently visible on the page. So if a category has 30 items but none are shown on the current page it will show none on that sorting click. This is just a limitation of loading in portfolio items with the wordpress loop and unless Kriesi can find a way to do it without a massive performance hit, there will probably never be an update to change that.

For the pagination, it sounds like a permalink issue. Try going to your wordpress Settings>Permalinks and changing to default. Check if pagination works and then try changing back again.
