We have discovered that the breadcrumbs are appearing incorrectly in Firefox, but correct in Chrome on both Mac and PC.

For example, when viewing this page: http://aarcs.ca/portfolio-item/a20950542/
In Chrome, the breadcrumbs appear as: You are here: Home / Adoptable Dogs / A20950542
In Firefox, the breadcrumbs appear as: You are here: Home / Adoptable Barn Buddies / A20950542

    Another example: http://aarcs.ca/portfolio-item/a20486379/
In Firefox, the breadcrumbs appear as: You are here: Home / Adoptable Dogs / A20486379
In Chrome, the breadcrumbs appear as: You are here: Home / Adoptable Cats / A20486379

    A third example: http://aarcs.ca/portfolio-item/a21102303/
In Firefox, the breadcrumbs appear as: You are here: Home / Animals Needing Foster / A21102303
In Chrome, the breadcrumbs appear as: You are here: Home / Adoptable Barn Buddies / A21102303

    Please advise.

    Hey bodnarchukd!

WordPress doesn’t know which “portfolio page” is the parent page of a “single portfolio entry” because the portfolio grid is actually just a shortcode which is embedded into the content of a page. Kriesi found a workaround and Enfold stores the id of the parent portfolio/grid page into a session. If the session data exists the breadcrumb will show the portfolio grid link in the breadcrumb, otherwise not.

I.e. if the user first views the grid page (http://aarcs.ca/animals-needing-foster/ ) the server will save the page id into the session and as soon as the user views the single portfolio entry (i.e. http://aarcs.ca/portfolio-item/a21355999/ ) Enfold uses the session data to build the breadcrumb. On the other hand (if the user accesses the portfolio entry directly by clicking on a link without visiting the portfolio grid page) it won’t save a session/id and the breadcrumb won’t show the portfolio grid link. I think the browsers give you different results because you sometimes visited the single portfolio entries directly and sometimes you visited the grid page first…

If you don’t want to show the portfolio grid page in the breadcrumb but just the portfolio categories of the current entry you can use the code I posted here http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/breadcrumbs-with-portfolio/
By going this way the breadcrumbs will always have the same structure but you can’t show the portfolio grid pages in the breadcrumb.

    Best regards,
    Peter
